Our church participates in the Shop With Scrip program.  If you have never heard of it, you are missing out.

Here is how it works.

  1. You buy a gift card (for example, a $25 Albertsons Card).
  2. You go to Albertsons and spend the gift card to buy $25 worth of items.
It costs you nothing extra, however the church is charged $1 less than $25 for the card and gets to keep the 4% difference.  It’s a simple idea that can raise money for the church while you just keep doing what you are already doing.

Amazon (2.25%) is one of the many, many companies that participates in the scrip program.  Companies where the church receives the highest giving amounts include Old Navy (14%), Gap (14%), Bath & Body Works (12%), Chili’s (11%), Macy’s (10%), Rubio’s (10%), Chipotle (10%), Barnes & Noble (8%), Domino’s (8%), Buffalo Wild Wings (8%), Panera Bread (8%), Starbucks (7%) and TJ Maxx (7%).
