The Annual Rummage Sale is a two-day sale the weekend after Labor Day. The women’s group of the church known as the United Methodist Women (UMW) sponsor and organize this event, though many church members help out. We fill our church with clothing and household items, then we fill the patio with furniture, lawn and garden items. The amount of donations we receive is kind of overwhelming. Proceeds from the sale help to pay the church budget and allow the UMW to do more outreach in the community and around the world.
The 2017 Rummage Sale was Friday, September 8th, and Saturday, September 9th, from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm each day. In 2018, the proposed dates are September 7th and 8th.
Items for the rummage sale begin arriving after church the Sunday before the sale. Then members of the church come in Tuesday through Thursday to get everything ready and priced before the doors open Friday morning. There is also help needed all week for setup and prep. Even more help is needed on the days of the sale to help people load items in their cars, and eventually clean-up after the event. If you would like to help, contact Pastor John, by using the phone or email at the bottom of every page or our Contact Us page to request more information.
